Behind the Scenes: How We Saved a Couple €5,000 at Their Venice Wedding

Updated 19 May 2026

The Brief: A Dream Wedding in Venice

Venice is one of the most magical wedding destinations in the world — and one of the most logistically challenging. When a couple booked us to perform at their wedding in the heart of the city, it was everything we love: a stunning location, an incredible celebration, and a problem worth solving. The venue, as part of their usual recommendations, suggested a local PA supplier for the event.

What Is PA Equipment — and Why Does It Matter?

PA stands for Public Address — it's the professional sound system that allows a live band to perform at the volume and quality a wedding reception deserves. It includes speaker stacks, subwoofers for bass, amplifiers, mixing desks, stage monitors (so the band can hear themselves), microphones, and all the cabling and rigging that holds it together. In short: no PA, no party. The quality of a PA system directly affects how the music sounds in the room — a poor-quality rig makes even the best band sound flat. A professional-grade system makes every note land perfectly, filling the room with rich, clear, powerful sound.

The Problem With the Suggested Supplier

As an experienced international band, we travel with our own professional PA equipment — a touring-grade rig that we know inside out, have engineered hundreds of times, and trust completely. When we reviewed the quote from the venue's suggested local supplier, the cost was significant: over €5,000 for the hire. We knew we could do better — for the couple, and for the quality of the show.

Our Solution: Boat Transfers Through the Canals

There are no roads in Venice. Every piece of equipment — speakers, subs, mixing desk, cables, stands, lighting rigs — had to be loaded, transported by road to the dock, transferred onto a water taxi, navigated through the canals, unloaded at the venue's private entrance, and carried to the performance space. It's exactly the kind of logistical challenge that separates a truly professional band from the rest. We arranged the full operation ourselves: dock-side loading, boat transfers, and a methodical unload and setup at the venue. Every flight case accounted for. Every cable run planned in advance.

The Result: €5,000 Saved. Flawless Sound.

By using our own equipment and managing the logistics ourselves, we saved the couple €5,000 compared to the venue's suggested supplier — without any compromise on quality. In fact, the opposite: our touring-grade PA delivered a level of sound that a local hire company simply couldn't have matched. The dance floor was packed from the first note to the last. The couple were blown away. And the whole operation — dock to dancefloor — ran like clockwork.

See It For Yourself

"This is what it means to book a band that's genuinely experienced in international events. We don't just show up and play — we handle everything, so you don't have to."
